Indian Fishing Boat Varad Vinayak Sai in Distress Due to Flooding

 Mumbai, India - November 27, 2024 - The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai has issued a distress call for the Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) Varad Vinayak Sai (Reg No. IND-MH-07-MM-228).

The vessel, carrying 16 crew members, reported flooding onboard its location at 19 Deg 01 N 071 Deg 15 E (275 Prongs Lt 88). This is approximately 275 nautical miles from land.

MRCC Mumbai urges all mariners in the area to:

  • Maintain a sharp lookout for the Varad Vinayak Sai.
  • Render assistance to the vessel if sighted.
  • Immediately contact MRCC Mumbai upon sighting the vessel.
