Mayday Issued for Missing Pleasure Vessel "Independence Day"

 Fort-de-France, Martinique – October 25, 2024 – A Mayday alert has been issued for the pleasure vessel "Independence Day," which is overdue on its voyage from Saint Lucia to Martinique.

The 32-foot vessel, with two people on board and flying the French flag, departed Saint Lucia but has not yet arrived at its destination.

The Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) in Fort-de-France is urging all ships in the vicinity to be on the lookout for the missing vessel and report any information to their office.

The vessel is described as having a white hull.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and are coordinating search and rescue efforts.

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

  UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
