Distress Call: Small Boat Missing Between Algeria and Sardinia

A small boat with 10 people on board is missing at sea. The vessel departed El Kala, Algeria on October 1st, 2024, at 2:00 UTC and was headed towards the coast of Sardinia, Italy.

The Italian Coast Guard is requesting all ships transiting in the area to:

  • Maintain a sharp lookout for any signs of the missing vessel.
  • Report any sightings or relevant information immediately.

Current Weather Conditions in the Area:

  • Northwesterly winds at 15 knots with gusts up to 24 knots.
  • Cloudy with rain.
  • Sea state: 2.2 meters with decreasing swell.

Please help us bring these people home safely. Keep a vigilant watch and report any information that could assist in the search.

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

  UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
