Distress Call: Italian Coast Guard Seeking Vessels for Migrant Rescue (3 Boats)

SAR Cases No. 2275, 2294, 2295 - Urgent Assistance Needed

Details:

The Italian MRCC Rome is conducting a search and rescue operation for three (3) vessels carrying approximately 10 migrants each. These boats are believed to have departed from Algeria and are currently unaccounted for.

Weather Conditions:

  • Significant deterioration expected.
  • Winds reaching 19 knots from the North by this evening.
  • Choppy seas with waves up to 1 meter.
  • Partly cloudy skies.



All vessels in the vicinity are urged to maintain a sharp lookout for any signs of the missing boats. In case of a sighting, please report it immediately to the Italian MRCC

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

  UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
