The forecast for Hurricane Beryl calls for it to move west-northwest at a speed of 13 kt (15 mph) over the next 12 hours, with maximum sustained winds decreasing to 60 kt (70 mph). Over the next 24 hours, the storm is expected to move back over water near 21.7N 91.0W, with maximum sustained winds of 50 kt (60 mph). Tropical storm force winds will extend outward up to 80 nm (90 miles) from the center, and seas are expected to be 12 ft or greater within 90 nm of the storm's northeast quadrant.
Over the next 48 hours, Hurricane Beryl is forecast to move near the coast of Campeche, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 60 kt (70 mph). Tropical storm force winds will extend outward up to 100 nm (115 miles) from the center, and seas are expected to be 12 ft or greater within 120 nm of the storm's center.
The forecast also includes warnings for other areas of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, with winds ranging from 20 kt (25 mph) to 33 kt (40 mph) and seas of 8 ft or greater in some areas. The forecast notes that winds in and near active tropical cyclones should be used with caution due to uncertainty in track, size, and intensity.
