London, 7 June 2024 – The United Kingdom Coastguard has issued an update regarding the previously reported mayday alert involving an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) beacon activation. The distress signal was initially received at 0709 UTC on 7 June 2024 via the COSPAS-SARSAT system on 406 MHz from a USA-coded ELT.

Incident Resolution

As of 0725 UTC, the United Kingdom Coastguard has declared "Seelonce Feenee," indicating that the emergency situation has been resolved and the distress alert is no longer active.



London, 7 June 2024 – The United Kingdom Coastguard has issued an urgent mayday alert following the activation of an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) beacon. The distress alert, received via the COSPAS-SARSAT system on 406 MHz from a USA-coded ELT, was logged at 0709 UTC on 7 June 2024.

Incident Details

The distress signal was pinpointed to the position 48°54.1'N, 11°49.0'W in the North Atlantic. All vessels in the vicinity are urgently requested to proceed to the distress position to provide assistance and verify if any aircraft is in distress and requires aid.


The United Kingdom Coastguard is coordinating the search and rescue (SAR) efforts.

Weather Conditions

Current weather conditions in the area are as follows:

  • Wind: North-West at 9 knots, with gusts up to 14 knots
  • Sky: Overcast
  • Wave Height: 1.9 meters

These conditions suggest moderate sea states, which can impact the efficiency of SAR operations. Vessels are advised to navigate with caution while proceeding to the distress location.

Search and Rescue Operation for Overdue Aircraft in Ligurian Sea

Issued by IMRCC Rome - Italian Coast Guard Date: September 17, 2024 To: All Ships Transiting in the Ligurian Sea  A white and grey aircraft with blue stripes is overdue and a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation has been initiated.  In accordance with the SOLAS Convention and the SAR Convention Hamburg 1979, all vessels transiting in the Ligurian Sea are urged to maintain a sharp lookout for the missing aircraft. Any potential sightings should be reported immediately to IMRCC Rome. Weather Conditions: Be advised that current weather conditions in the Ligurian Sea include northeasterly winds of 20 knots with waves up to 2 meters high. Weather is expected to worsen in the coming hours. The overdue aircraft and worsening weather conditions make this a time-sensitive search and rescue operation. The Italian Coast Guard implores all vessels in the area to actively participate in the search and report any potential sightings as soon as possible.
