Search and Rescue investigating activated EPIRB beacon

A distress beacon (EPIRB) was activated on June 24th, 2024 at 1:48 UTC. The beacon's location is reported at 2° 55'50" South and 37° 00'57" West, but the specific vessel in distress is unknown.

Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) is requesting that the vessel "RICHMOND VOYAGER" with MMSI number 538011004 confirm their status. MRCC needs to determine if there is an emergency, a vessel in need of assistance, or anyone in danger at that location.

The weather conditions in the area are reported as southeasterly winds at 18 knots with gusts up to 24 knots, 2.3 meter waves, and cloudy skies.

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
