Missile Attack on Merchant Vessel Southwest of Aden, Yemen - No Casualties Reported

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has issued a warning update regarding a reported missile attack on a merchant vessel located 89 nautical miles southwest of Aden, Yemen. The incident occurred on June 9, 2024, at approximately 1430 UTC.

According to the Company Security Officer's report, the vessel was hit during the attack, but no casualties have been reported among the crew. The vessel is currently continuing its journey to the next port of call.

The UKMTO advises all vessels in the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as they work to ensure the safety of maritime traffic in the region.

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
