June 12, 2024 – An update from the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) Norfolk has confirmed that the sailing vessel Marjorie is no longer in distress. According to a message received from Inmarsat at 11:06:50 Z, the Marjorie made contact with RCC Norfolk at 10:53 Z, indicating that the vessel is currently under sail and making approximately 3 knots on an east-southeast course in position 37°31'N, 69°56'W.

 

June 12, 2024 – An urgent notification has been issued by the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) Norfolk regarding the sailing vessel Marjorie. According to a message received from Inmarsat at 05:07:33 Z, the Marjorie is currently disabled and in need of assistance at the position 37°27'N, 69°15'W. Mariners in the vicinity are requested to remain vigilant, offer assistance if possible, and report any sightings or developments to RCC Norfolk.

In June 2025, the standby safety vessel CHRISTINA DEBORA , 38.77 meters in length, experienced a maritime emergency that culminated in its abandonment in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean after drifting powerless for more than two weeks.
