Maersk Seletar Reports Person Overboard West of Nouadhibou

 

A distress message received via Inmarsat at 08:32:44 UTC on May 7, 2024, indicated a person overboard from the Maersk Seletar container ship.

The Maersk Seletar, with callsign WTAA and MMSI 369309000, is currently in distress approximately 120 nautical miles west of Nouadhibou, Mauritania, at position 22°00'00.0"N 19°00'00.0"W.

Request for Assistance:

Vessels in the vicinity of the Maersk Seletar are urged to assist in the search for the person overboard. Any information or sightings should be reported immediately to MRCC Rabat (the Moroccan Maritime Rescue Coordination Center) or the nearest coastal radio station.

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

  UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
