Fishing Vessel SUPUN PUTHA 03 Ceases Communication: Urgent Appeal for Assistance

The Indian Coast Guard has issued an urgent alert regarding the Sri Lankan fishing vessel, SUPUN PUTHA 03 (registration number IMUL-A-0578 MTR), which has ceased communication since May 4, 2024. The last known position of the vessel was recorded on May 8, 2024, at coordinates 07°50'N 073°12'E.

SUPUN PUTHA 03 is a yellow and white fishing vessel, measuring 38 feet in length. It was reported to have five crew members on board at the time communication was lost. Mariners transiting through the area are requested to maintain a sharp lookout for the vessel and provide any necessary assistance upon sighting. Any information should be communicated immediately to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Mumbai.
