Man Overboard in the Atlantic Ocean - Search and Rescue Operation Request

A distress signal has been issued for a man overboard in the Atlantic Ocean, west of Ponta de Gravata. The last known position of the individual was at 08-54.12s 034-50.55w on April 24th, 2024.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has requested nearby vessels to assist in the search and rescue operation.

All ships in the vicinity are urged to search, sight, assist, and report any information that may help locate the person in distress. This incident serves as a critical reminder for all mariners to prioritize safety measures and be prepared for emergencies while at sea.

Sailing Yacht Sunbeam Overdue – Italian Coast Guard Issues Search and Rescue Alert

UPDATE 08 Sptempber 2024: The vessel was located in the port of Denia. Alarm no longer active. With the post on Facebook the captain lets us know that they are fine: Oisin Margey Hi, I am the captain of Sunbeam. We are fine and currently approaching the East Coast of Spain.
