Search and rescue operation underway for two migrant boats in Mediterranean

The Italian Coast Guard is coordinating a search and rescue operation for two migrant boats that are believed to be in distress in the Mediterranean Sea.

The first boat is a white and blue wooden boat with approximately 10 people on board. The second boat is a blue rubber boat with approximately 14 people on board.

The Italian Coast Guard has issued a distress call to all ships in the area to be on the lookout for the boats.

Bad weather hampers search efforts

Search and rescue operations are hampered by the adverse weather conditions that will occur in the next few hours. Tomorrow, winds in the area are expected to reach 22 knots, with waves up to 2 meters.
