Summary:

Mariners are advised of hazardous operations due to rocket launches scheduled to take place in the Western North Atlantic, off the coast of Florida, from March 4, 2024, to March 10, 2024.

Specific Dates and Times:

  • March 4th: 04:00 AM to 04:50 AM EST (alternate)
  • March 5th: 04:23 AM to 05:25 AM EST, 05:23 AM to 06:59 AM EST, 06:23 AM to 07:34 AM EST
  • March 6th: 07:22 AM to 08:30 AM EST, 08:22 AM to 09:44 AM EST
  • March 7th: 09:21 AM to 10:21 AM EST
  • March 8th: 04:00 AM to 04:50 AM EST (alternate)
  • March 9th: 04:23 AM to 05:25 AM EST, 05:23 AM to 06:59 AM EST, 06:23 AM to 07:34 AM EST
  • March 10th: 07:22 AM to 08:30 AM EST, 08:22 AM to 09:44 AM EST

  • Westernmost point: 28° 24.00' N, 80° 09.00' W
  • Southwestern point: 28° 21.00' N, 80° 11.00' W
  • Northwestern point: 28° 23.00' N, 80° 19.00' W
  • Northeastern point: 28° 29.35' N, 80° 32.49' W

Area B:

  • Northernmost point: 26° 15.00' N, 76° 00.00' W
  • Easternmost point: 26° 06.00' N, 74° 58.00' W
  • Southernmost point: 25° 36.00' N, 74° 03.00' W
  • Westernmost point: 25° 23.00' N, 73° 53.00' W
  • Southwestern point: 25° 09.00' N, 74° 01.00' W
  • Northwestern point: 25° 06.00' N, 74° 16.00' W
  • Northeastern point: 25° 08.00' N, 74° 38.00' W

The Dramatic Ordeal of M/V CHRISTINA DEBORA: From Mechanical Failure to Abandonment in the Mid-Atlantic

In June 2025, the standby safety vessel CHRISTINA DEBORA , 38.77 meters in length, experienced a maritime emergency that culminated in its abandonment in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean after drifting powerless for more than two weeks. The vessel had been sold and reflagged to Zanzibar either shortly before or just after leaving South Africa. The Beginning of the Crisis – June 8, 2025 The ordeal began on Sunday, June 8, when CHRISTINA DEBORA , navigating approximately 300 nautical miles northwest of St. Helena Island, suffered a major clutch failure, completely losing propulsion. Seven crew members were onboard at the time.
